Rape Reported at Home of Nebraska Football Players

A 20-year-old woman alleges she was raped inside the home of two Nebraska football players.

Lincoln police have announced they are investigating an alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman, which the Omaha World-Herald has determined occurred at the home of Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong (No. 4, above) and his roommate, Huskers wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp. According to the the police report, the incident took place early Sunday morning between 2:15 AM and 9:30 AM. Armstrong, Westerkamp, and another Nebraska player Trey Foster were all interviewed by police. The alleged victim knows the suspect and he has been contacted by police, however they have not released his name due to departmental policy.

The players had been home at 12:30 AM after returning from their trip to New Jersey to play Rutgers. According to Armstrong, they were partying after their 31-14 win.

[Armstrong] said police told the three that they wanted to hear their side of the story about what might have happened. "After talking to us, (the police) said you guys should be fine," Armstrong said."I don't know why that person said that," Armstrong said, referring to the alleged victim. "We're confused about the whole situation. From what we're hearing, everything was consensual."

Lincoln police spokeswoman Katie Flood said the woman arrived at a local hospital at 2:30 PM later that day and reported the alleged assault. No arrests have been made yet.
