The Quest multimedia series at California’s KQED just put out this 12-minute piece on the history of particle accelerators, “Homegrown Particle Accelerators,” covering from their earliest 1930s incarnations to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in the ‘70s, and, finally, Europe’s current beast of an accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider.
