There is certainly an argument to be made for the supercut short film: they allow editors to show scenes from a movie in unique succession, allowing for comparisons and connections that might have otherwise gone unnoticed—it’s like making a trailer except you don't have to worry about spoiling the movie for. Supercuts are a place to refresh your memory of a film that was watched maybe years ago, to relive memorable moments and avoid paying the twentysomething dollars it costs to go to the movies with someone now.
