Check This Recently Unearthed Live Röyksopp Session from 2002

It's a fuzzed-out version of their early hit "Remind Me"

Norwegian electro-pop duo Röyksopp have been at it since 1998 with their patent aesthetic: bleepy-bloopy synth melodies drenched in pop sensibility, trip-hop atmospherics, and breathy vocals. They've been a definitive force in the sound of Scandinavian pop for almost two decades as their career has wound through 6 LPs and a Grammy nomination.

Röyksopp's track "Remind Me" was one of their first hits, released on their 2001 debut album Melody A.M via the Wall of Sound label. The animated video for the tune was an alarmingly on-point warning about the technological singularity we look ready set to delve into.

As part of Wall of Sound's 21st birthday celebrations, the label is putting out an entire release of antiquities and hidden gems in retrospect of a catalogue that's seen early releases from Kruder & Dorfmeister, Basement Jaxx, and the Propellerheads. Röyksopp were, undoubtedly, one of the label's finest findings, and the collection uncovers a live 2002 performance of the aforementioned "Remind Me" from the Jo Whiley show.

The live version is a distinctly fuzzier and more upfront affair than the polite original, and although not quite at mosh pit levels of rowdy, it definitely shows the depth of the quintessential duo's songwriting."Royksopp are the biggest selling artists ever in the label's history," says Wall of Sound owner Mark Jones. "They have always been fiercely true to themselves and never compromised their artistic integrity which is what it has always been about for me."
