Everyone gave up on MTV a long time ago, at least as far as music videos are concerned. It hit that zenith way back in the 1990s. Now of course, all the best music videos can be found online, which is exactly why we’re so happy to see Vye Music. Not only can you search for music, which is sourced from YouTube along with the accompanying video, but it will also let you import your iTunes music library too. Although, if you’ve been listening to obscure punk bands from the New Zealand 1970s underground, or the folk songs of Crete, chances are you’re out of luck (the application will only import files that exist on YouTube). There are a few other attractive features, however, such as track suggestions, artist bios (pulled from Wikipedia or the artist’s website), recommendations for similar artists, and a radio section (where you can search via genre), as well as the all-important playlist feature. All this from a 17-year-old Australian kid named Charles Allatt. You can go and get involved here.[via The Next Web]
