We're Throwing a Day of the Dead Party with el Jimador

It's at the Old Blue Last, it's going to be Mexican themed (obviously) and it's also going to be the best.

There's a lot to love about Mexican culture. London's been lucky over the past couple of years in that the culinary illuminati suddenly realised that pork pibil and queso fundido taste really, really good, and so decided to replace all those industrial estate tex-mex restaurants where plastic sombreros come included with your first watery mojito with places where you'd actually want to spend your money on food.

But there's far more to ingest than pork and cheese, which is where Mexology – our new project with el Jimador Tequila – comes in handy. So far, we've made a short film about Mexico City's incredible musical underground and written about the Mexican music scene in Sheffield, all the great places you can go to get Mexican food in London and published a short guide on why Mexico City is amazing and how you're missing out on a very important part of your life by not visiting it immediately.

The next thing we're doing together is a Day of the Dead party at the Old Blue Last on Friday, November the 1st, with el Jimador taking over the whole pub and transforming it into a shrine to Mexology. There's going to be live music from Temple Songs and Neon Windbreaker, and it's going to be at least 600 times better than anything else you have planned.
