In a horrific incident Saturday night, a man attending the Braves-Yankees game in Atlanta fell nearly 40 feet from the upper deck of Atlanta's Turner field and died soon after.According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the man, who police reported to be in his early 60s, fell when Alex Rodriguez was called up to bat amidst a chorus of boos. Marty Burns was in attendance and close to the man when he fell.

Fans scattered from the area where he fell—located between the second and third rows on the first level just behind home plate—where two pools of blood formed, later to be mopped up by a stadium worker. The man was carried out on a stretcher and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Grady Memorial Hospital.Various Braves players were alerted to the news, and pitcher Matt Wisler reacted,When they called A-Rod coming to bat, he got all excited, and his momentum took him over (the railing)
Atlanta police lieutenant Charles Hampton said that a preliminary investigation revealed that there was no type of foul play.[Detroit News, Atlanta Journal-Constitution]Huge condolences go out to that family. You never want to hear something like that. We were all in the dugout paying more attention to that than the game when it first happened. That's terribly sad to hear.
