Only the strong survive in the world of underground bass music. Dubstep listeners have their bullshit radars turned all the way up, so if you wanna get anywhere, you better have your game on point. Both Austin's The Widdler and Santa Cruzian bass-lord G Jones both show a knack for bringing the bassweight without turning up the crunch or turning down the class. Now that they've colluded on a joint EP titled Diamonds, soundsystems nationwide better look out.The three track EP features a solo number each from the producers and the collaborative effort "Diamonds on My Necklace," of which we've got the premiere. It takes a sample from Smitty's ineffable original and set it to some grimey-as-fuhh whompage that's at once laid back and heavy.G Jones is currently on tour with fellow low-end provocateurs Minnesota and Jackal, and The Widdler is most likely widdling something while eating hipster barbecue in Austin, just before hitting the stage with Rusko in St. Louis this weekend.Download the whole EP for free on Bandcamp.Find G Jones on FB // Soundcloud // Twitter
