Levon Vincent Just Leaked His Own Album

The Novel Sound main man just made your Monday.

In a move almost certain to banish away the Monday blues of clubbers worldwide, Berlin-based New Yorker Levon Vincent has taken to Twitter to leak his own album, expected to officially release on his own Novel Sound imprint tomorrow. The producer, best know for thudding classics like "Double Jointed Sex Freak (Part 1)" and the eternal "Late Night Jam," dropped Self-Titled as casually as other people post a photo of their quinoa pot from Pret.

Upon a quick first listen, Self-Titled is a deeply dark collection of dub-inflected steely house and techno. The set includes the track "Anti-Corporate Music," also self-released a few weeks back.

Vincent joins the likes of Angel Haze, Jai Paul, and Wiley in putting their own work out for complete consumption, eschewing the confines of a formal, commercial release and presumably usurping any monetary benefit thereof. For an artist like Vincent, the possibility of a previously-untapped audience accessing the music can only be a positive thing.
