Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.Flying Lotus: “Caravan of Delight”French label Ed Banger Records just released a compilation CD Let The Children Techno on February 21st mixed by “Cool Cats” DJ Mehdi and Busy P. Sometimes when we think of techno it can make our brain hurt a little, but this minimalist and dreamy track from experimental producer Flying Lotus (the great-nephew of John Coltrane) is quite the opposite. Busy P says the music on the compilation “is all fresh and unrealeased music, down and up-tempo, love and dub-step, warm and cold beats, and more international than Jesus.” The album also features music from Mr. Oizo, Feadz, and SebastiAN. From what we’ve heard, the 20-track compilation is well worth listening to, but “parents just don’t understand,” warns DJ Mehdi. Check it out on Beatport.Jodie Connor: "Bring it" (ft. Tinchy Stryder)New English solo songstress and former British “Pop Idol” Jodie Connor has just released her second single “Bring It,” and in the video it’s apparent that she’s enjoying the attention. The main point of this siren song (delivered in a bodycon wardrobe nonetheless) invites paparazzi, press, and fans alike to, well, bring it. About two minutes in to the upbeat pop song, Tinchy Stryder shows up in the party scene and lays down some lyrics like, “they break me down, but they never gonna pin me down.” The two musicians, one fresh and one a bit more seasoned, share the spotlight well.Slim Rimografia: “Canto da Vitória” (Remix ft. Emicida)Graffiti artist, b-boy, and Brazilian hip-hop artist Slim Rimografia‘s remix of “Canto da Vitória” (roughly translated to “Song of Victory”) that spotlights fellow popular Brazilian rapper and Creator Emicida, will be released on his upcoming album “Mais Que Existir” later this year. According to Slim’s MySpace, he surprisingly has no upcoming shows in Brazil, or anywhere for that matter, but after listening to this track, we think he’d be the perfect artist for Emicida feature on his upcoming album created as part of The Studio. Here are some sunny vibes for the otherwise dismal end of winter.
