Fragmentr is a website that lets you participate in the creation of collaboratively sourced collages. Designed by Ryan Weafer, the site asks that you simply upload an image—it suggests using one with “a variety of colors, pattern and depth” to keep things interesting—and it’ll get added into the mix. You’ll then see shredded components of your image appear alongside other uploaders’ images in a randomly generated collage. All the images are archived in bunches and can be viewed by clicking on the permalink, where you can shuffle the selection to produce different juxtapositions. So far, there’s some attractive collages, and no one’s used it to upload some of the more shocking and infamous images found on the internet. Yet. So far, it only works in Chrome or Safari.
