Beni's New Vid Has Kittens and Kimonos and Analog Hardware

The poppy deep house tune "Protect" in an ode to "Japanese techno girl love"

We consider ourselves experts on multi-cultural curiosities here at THUMP, but this new video from Beni is even leftfield for us. The tune, "Protect," is a bouncy and poppy deeper house offering from the Aussie producer, and he's solicited vocals from UK newcomers Antony and Cleopatra. The track is released on the ever-relevant Modular Recordings (Cut Copy, Robyn, Tame Impala) and distributed through Win Music.

The video is, supposedly, an ode to a developing trend named Japanese Techno Girl Love, borne out of a YouTube channel titled ThePuneya, in which women in dressed in traditional Japanese garb live mix minimal techno. In this particular homage, there are a couple cats and a bunch of cool hardware synths and analog recording equipment. Go figure. We're down.

Cats, kimonos, analog hardware? We know a few nerds who are sold at the mere mention of such a combination.
