David Garber: The French Express label has been on a tear since like….forever. They are, as they put it, "protectors of the feel-good." And despite their Francophile name, the imprint actually waves the American flag with vibey sing-alongs that just put a goofy grin on my face. I'll be singing this one from Jonas Rathsman in the shower until my neighbor drills a hole through my ceiling.

Max Pearl: Oh, Flume. This kid has achieved what all the other Tumblr kids have been attempting for years—a much sought-after combination of hip-hop's attitude problem, R&B's emotional depth, and dance music's willingness to experiment and explore. It's like if someone gave Rustie his much-needed prescription of ADHD medication. This is the intro to Flume's forthcoming mixtape, which features cameos from Ghostface Killah, How To Dress Well, Twin Shadow, Freddie Gibbs, and more. STAR STUDDED.

Vivian Host: Breakcore and bass dude goes all flashback warehouse acid techno for Boys Noize Records and hotdamn is this zapf dingbats. I'm breakdancing like a squiggle and electric sliding into the crab nebula never to be seen again. Byeeeee.

Joel Fowler: Last night someone dressed like Robocop almost hit me on a razor scooter, and this song would have paired nicely in my turn-step-slide-away. It's from Glasgow's slow syrup master, OOFT!

Michelle Lhooq: A real remix isn't just a half-assed edit—it's fully transformative. I have a gigantic lady-boner for the brilliant UK duo Mount Kimbie (I even ate baguettes with them when they were last in New York). So imagine my excitement when German techno experimentalist DJ Koze took the standout track off their last album, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, and turned it into an eight-minute meditation on ghostly yearning. Delicious.

David Garber: Back when I was in high school, hip-hop was pretty much all that was flowing through my headphones. The Pharcyde were pivotal in my development into a true-blue blunt smoker (and music head). So when I saw that Bit-Funk took their classic track "Runnin" and added some warm piano riffs with an extra side of sunshine I was overcome with all sorts of fuzzy wuzzy nostalgia.

Max Pearl: Fuck. Me. In the ear—this shit is crack. Are you ready for some motherfuckin' hardcore?! I totally called it in 2009 that Atari Teenage Riot-style hardcore would come back in style and all the lil' kiddies would be raving at 200 beats-per-minute, so here's my "told you so." This is a bit more polished than the dirty hardcore rave I'm used to, but it definitely scratches the itch. Shout out my dude Skrilly and his record label OWSLA for leading the charge.

Vivian Host: You can't really make a track called "Freezy" and have it not be good so, duh, this one is ice cold. Sam Binga (aka Baobinga) goes all freaky with some sort of half-time jungle breaks trap-snare-rolled banger. Its giving me brain freeze and butt move at the same damn time. (Note: The other two tracks on this EP, left rap banger "Ayo" and grime ting "8Barr," are also steezy.)

Joel Fowler: Man, this song is jacked. The swing on the high-hats is turned up way past standard, and that crazy shuffle sounds so good. Now that's the kind of French touch I can get behind. Big ups to S3A (Sampling is an Art) on Sweden's Local Talk label for delivering.

has been shaking dance halls from here to Shibuya, and this acidic slice of ravey synths makes me want to snort some Chi-town special and let my feet kick wild.


Mike Steyels: Not really a big fan of the Aluna George epidemic, but this Ta-ku remix is wikkid. The drums that kick in at 1:20 are like Stay Puft Marshmallow Man big. I could do without the Jersey Club section he throws in there—I have enough of it already—but it was admittedly surprising.
