Last night at Madison Square Garden thousands of overjoyed Phoenix fans thought things couldn’t get better than seeing the band perform their rendition of “If I Ever Feel Better” during their second encore. And then the unthinkable happened. Daft Punk appeared on stage, robot spacemen suits and all, and performed what may be their most popular hits to date, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “Around The World” together with Phoenix. As if that wasn’t enough to send the average concert-goer into a state of ecstatic bliss, the bands then transitioned into Phoenix’s “1901” to close out the set. Now THAT’s what we call an encore. We hope this Daft Punk appearance, their first performance live since 2007, is a preview of many more concerts to come in the next year or two. Fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of their Tron: Legacy soundtrack, which has been mercilessly teased in brief snippets online over the course of the past few months.
