Watch Movies on Your iPhone in "3D"

Courtesy of an old mirror trick.

Create a tiny little theatre and watch tiny little 3D movies in the palm of your hand (well, sort of, technically they’re still in 2D but the optical effects make them look 3D). This device merges old technology and new using an old illusionary technique called pepper’s ghost, invented by John Henry Pepper in the 1860. The updated, 2010 version is an analog extension to an iPhone or iPod Touch called Palm Top Theater, which comes from artist Jitsuro Mase. It uses the power of reflection to trick the eye into thinking a 2D display looks 3D. Learn more about it here.
