Two notable, disparate events took place over the last week or so—NASA’s Curiosity rover successfully landed on Mars, and a racist maniac tragically murdered several people in Wisconsin. Pretty apt week for humanity, there. So I was planning on doing stories involving each; I went to Times Square to watch the Curiosity touch down with 100 or so other folks, and I waded into the despairing hellhole that is Stormfront.org to see how that online community was reacting to news of the brutal Sikh murders. It was, obviously, more depressing than I thought possible, but that’s a tale for another time. Because then there was this—a thread lovingly titled: “Whites and our drive to achieve the reach to the stars and planets”.So this is how repulsive, unrepentant racists reacted to the Mars landing. Here’s a racist who goes by Fading Light, for instance:Isn’t it amazing?! Sometimes it boggles the mind to sit and think about the fact that our race figured out how to literally go explore other worlds.
After this race war is over, after our future is secured and our lands are reclaimed, I wonder what the White race will someday accomplish. It’s probably utterly beyond our ability to imagine right now. That is a real person who exists in the same society that we do. Here is another:I was up watching the live feed all night, when landing was confirmed my nerdy side got a little too loud for my mexican neighbors," HungarianMadman writes. Here is what one last racist, Cobradriver99, thought about the Mars landing:As long as we stay true to our values and continue our drive and accomplishments, with the earth still sustaining, I have no doubt we will soon send people to mars and down the distant road and to other planets outside our solar system … Its amazing how far we have come from such a short time. Our race is truly a blessing to man kind.Perhaps not.
