Corporate Shilling - Layering Up at the American Apparel Sale

If you don't take advantage of this thing you are probably part of the one percent.

If you, like most Americans, like to buy stuff for really cheap inside of gigantic megastores but, unlike most Americans, don't like to buy cheaply made stuff, you should know about this American Apparel warehouse sale going on in New York right now.

This city has been a depressing icicle over the last couple of weeks and our bellies are stretching out last year's winter clothes something fierce, so we decided to head down to the sale last weekend to layer up.

Because it's a warehouse sale, there are a bunch of clothes from the past few seasons in there. We picked out our favorites, then brought them back to our offices to stack on Taji a la Randy from A Christmas Story.

Here is Taji about halfway into his winter cocoon. He looks ashamed. And also like he might have just farted.

The pants were a bit of a problem. Bending over to put on your third pair of pants while wearing eight t-shirts, a few button-ups, and four jackets is tough.

By this point Taji had officially beaten the cold. Unfortunately, the price one has to pay for this type of layering is mobility. He had become a helpless Middle Eastern clothes rack. As we were forcing more stuff onto him he kept saying things like, "Let's just get this ovveeerrrrrr!" and "It's sooooo hot!"

Ready to battle the elements, Taji grabbed his board and decided to see what was happening at the KCDC ramp.

I think he got in about two runs before almost passing out. We had to peel the outermost five or six layers off of him before he could undress himself. Somehow, even those outside layers were wet with sweat.

If you're as cold-natured as our pal Taji, or if the people on your holiday list are, the American Apparel warehouse sale will be going on at 766 Avenue of the Americas through December 27. A lot of the stuff in the warehouse is up to 90 percent off, which means if you don't take advantage of this thing you are probably part of the one percent. You don't want anybody thinking that, do you?
