Last summer, VICE gave three of its employees a pretty simple mission: Drive through the heart of America and figure out what the hell is going on in the run up to the 2016 election.

Those three employees were: Abdullah Saeed, a Philly native who also goes by T. Kid, has played drums in a Muslim punk rock band, and is behind some of VICE's greatest content on marijuana; Wilbert L. Cooper, a former VICE intern from Cleveland who is now a senior editor and writes about everything from fashion and hip-hop to police brutality and politics; and Martina de Alba, an indie rock drummer and video editor who immigrated here from Mallorca, Spain.

VICE Does America follows these three knuckleheads as they drive in a shitty-ass RV from Los Angeles to Washington, DC. Over 30 days of traveling, going through nearly as many states, they come across porn stars, pot heads, gun-toting militia men, protesting Native Americans, the remains of deceased Mexican migrants, Creationist scientists, an African king, and pompous presidential candidates.

So much of what VICE is known for right now is sending reporters to far off, dangerous places that are unfamiliar to a lot of Americans. VICE Does America is a reminder of what is ugly, beautiful, hateful, majestic, and tragic about our own backyard. Check it out to see your country like you've never seen it before.

VICE Does America will air Wednesdays at 10 PM, premiering July 6 on VICELAND.
