NOT FIT TO PRINT - POETRY FAX

We thought that, like letter-writing, faxing high-school-grade free verse to random magazine offices was a dying art, but yesterday some serious young Bergerac proved us wrong. Click the pic to enlarge, or see the transcribed doggerel below…

G.C.A

God
Called
Another
It took a prayer and a call,
I prayed,
God called.
My child, my precious
Fell,

Onto New York’s softest cushion.
Grand Concourse Academy.
Gentle
Courageous
Antidote.
Gentle, genuine, great, gifted - God chosen TEACHERS.
Courageous, confident, caring creative - PRINCIPAL.
Antidote, answer, antiphon - A Parent’s DREAM.
A school above schools
That will produce
Men above men
And
Women who will outshine Women.
God. It scares me to have this cushion come September
Called - were us to this blessing.
Another - leader goes out into the world.
Our children leave
The door remains
Open
Another gets a call and says
A
Prayer.
