A 14-Year-Old in Florida Allegedly Tried to Pay His Friend $1200 to Kill His Family

The teenager's dad found a hit contract in the boy's room.

The Palm Beach Post just reported that a teenage boy from St. Lucie, Florida, was arrested for trying to put a hit on his dad, his stepmom, and his stepbrother. The boy hired a friend to stage a fake robbery and murder the family members in the process, at which point the boy would run to the neighbor's house and call the cops. The 14-year-old drafted a contract and agreed to pay his friend $1,200. The boy's father came across the contract in his room—complete with the murder plan and payment agreement—and turned the case over to the police, who hauled the teenager off to a juvenile detention center. When the friend hired to do the killing was questioned by the police, he said he figured that the whole thing was a joke, and he has not been taken into custody.
