Melt Unit: Sydney's own Junglist Ravecore Explosion

Twenty-two minutes of ADHD-breakcore-acid-rave-bass heaven.

Anyone looking for chilled-out dinner party music, read no further. Melt Unit just dropped his debut release and it's 22 minutes of ADHD heaven. It's called 'Get Melted' and it's out on Cock Rock Disco, the US/German/Swedish label that proudly "strives to release complex music whose subtlety is often overshadowed by its brazen recklessness."

Sounds good to me, though 'hyped' might just be the easiest way to describe 'Get Melted'. Or maybe it's some kind of awesome, red cordial-infused, dance music casserole? Who knows? Imagine every great thing about 90's dance music thrown into a blender with bass music circa 2015, then heated up to boiling point. It kinda sounds like that. There's a clear jungle influence, but it's pretty clear that Melt Unit is equally enamoured with footwork, acid, breakcore and classic rave music.

Like fellow contemporaries, such as the UK's Off Me Nut Records crew, Melt Unit is carving out a modern 2015 jungle sound, one that is fun, exciting and designed purely for dance floor mayhem.

Check out the title track from the album, complete with a post-everything video clip by Cock Rock Disco label honcho Jason Forest (aka DJ Donna Summer).

After a bit of digging around, it turns out Melt Unit isn't some pimply new kid on the block, but rather a fresh project from Sydney producer Sean Doyle. He's been making bizarre breakcore and odd chiptunes as Abortifacient for the last decade, and has dropped support sets for most of your soon-to-be favourite artists; DJ Rainbow Ejaculation, Toecutter and Passenger of Shit.

Finally, in the interests of full disclosure, 'Get Melted' contains a footwork remix of 90's Aussie rave cut "Here's Johnny"!

Melt Unit's 'Get Melted' is out now as a free download (with the option to donate some cash too, if you fancy.)
