It's the 21st of August, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still president of FIFA.

FIFA held its big pow wow with major sponsors yesterday. From Reuters: "FIFA said that AB InBev, Adidas, Coca-Cola, McDonald's and Visa were present.

"The sponsors said in a joint statement: 'FIFA provided the sponsors with updates on several topics. During this meeting, we reiterated our expectations for robust reform, and we will continue to engage with FIFA.'"

Police in Bolivia have raided the offices of the Bolivian Football Federation. This may come as a shock, but officials there are suspected of corruption.

In the Cincinnati Open, Andy Murray overcame Grigor Dimitrov by the thinnest of margins. Dimitrov had a match point against the Brit, but Murray saved to win 6-4 6-7 (3/7) 7-5

Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic signed for Real Madrid from Inter. At his official presentation to the media, the 21-year-old appeared to say "Bon dia a tots," which is a perfectly friendly thing to say to a group of people if you're in Barcelona. Bon dia a tots is Catalan. Kovacic's Spanish teacher must be a Barca supporter. You be the judge. He's introduced at the four minute mark.

In last night's Euro Cup qualifiers, Borussia Dortmund played a typical Borussia Dortmund match, going down 3-0 to a team with no business beating the German giants (in this case Norway's Odds Ballklubb) before coming back to win 4-3 in the final minutes. Dortmund defender Matts Hummels praised Odds after the match. He was a bit surprised when he found out the left winger who terrorized Dortmund all night, Rafik Zekhnini, is just 17.

Not new news, but Lebron James could charge as much as $139,474 for a single tweet, such is the power of his celebrity. I did a little back-of-the-envelope multiplying and dividing and found that, relative to Lebron's rate, I could be making $6.90 per tweet. If any advertisers are reading this, my email is in my bio. Let's talk.
