After a 5-year hiatus, the Gorillaz made a comeback earlier this year with their third studio album: Plastic Beach. After headlining the closing night at this year's Coachella festival, the group embarked on world tour, and have been simultaneously recording a follow-up album. According to Damon Albarn (the group's only consistent member) the follow-up is being recorded entirely on an iPad, and they want to be the first band to use the technology to do so…before Christmas, no less. They're also holding a contest for fans to draw and design a new character in the Gorillaz world, the Evangelist, who may or my not be inspired by their new tech-savvy recording mechanisms. If all goes according to plan, we may be hearing more frequently from the Gorillaz, and that would definitely be a good thing. Our fingers are crossed for a successful, holographic world tour following the iPad-created album. But for now, enjoy the live video above of their latest single, "Doncamatic," featuring Daley.
