Our Creators are a very talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always cluttered with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top five faves from the past two weeks.Neon Indian: “Sleep Paralysist” (Com Truise ‘Eyelid’ Remix)New Jersey-based Com Truise claims to “compute mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk,” which makes him a natural fit to remix Neon Indian, who’s style is often defined as “chillwave.” Although the video for the original is not one to be missed, the remix steps up the beat and synth to create a more caffeine-addled version of the original dreamlike tune. Alan Palomo is even giving away a free download of the track if you enter your email address on his website.Cold War Kids: “Audience” (Fool’s Gold remix)California indie rockers Cold War Kids get “duck-ified” in this remix as Fool’s Gold Records smooth out Nathan Willett’s signature raw vocals, as well as add a drum machine and heavier bass. Catchdubs and A-Track transform this track from quintessential alternative rock to a glammed out mix-match of genres…if only there was a Dust La Rock drawing to go with it.Robyn: “Dancehall Queen” feat. Spoek Mathambo (Diplo & Stenchman Remix)Even though Diplo produced the original version of the track, the addition of Spoek Mathambo’s spoken encouragement with Stenchman’s slight of hand really makes our jaw drop. As Robyn says, “This song is for dancing, not socializing.” (Conclusion: the longer Diplo works on something, the better it gets.) Shiwouw-Shiwouw-ow-ow!Tinchy Stryder: “Game Over” (Female Takeover remix)Tinchy’s “Game Over” track has gotten a lot of recent attention, from the could-be-controversial refix we spoke about in a previous roundup to this totally bad-ass, estrogen-infused comeback from the hottest female names in grime. Ruff Diamondz, A Dot, Envy, Cherri V, Boby Blue, RoxXan, Lioness, Mz. Bratt, and Lady Leshurr lay the smack down chanting: “It’s game over, ladies in the building, fellas look over your shoulder, we’re coming harder and better and stronger.” Awesome. Now we just have to sit back and wait to see who feels left out this time…Lady Sovereign perhaps?Katy Perry: “Firework” (DJ Mehdi remix)Pop princess, Katie Perry, plays fairy godmother in this empowering hit seemingly directed at middle-school mis-fits (which in middle school is basically everyone). DJ Mehdi, makes this croon much more fit for the high school set (read: cooler)…amping the beat, looping the vocals, and layering some chill synth on top.CREATOR TIP-OFF!
