New York - Anti-What?

The Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University in Michigan is one of the country's foremost non-ironic storehouses of creepy racist ephemera from the past few centuries. (Ironically enough, its website is one of the only places online you can gawk at old minstrel masks and Coon Chicken menus without feeling like a Stormfront regular.)

Apparently though, they've taken a bit of flack in recent years for focusing so exclusively on anti-Black memorabilia and decided to expand their repertoire to cover other victims of hatin'. It's nice to see a little redneck humor and Phelpsiana thrown into the mix, but a few of the new entries have resulted in prolonged bouts of chin-scratching. Take the "Got Milk" hoodie at left for instance--who exactly is the offended party here? Scumbags? Thinking people? Bill Waterson? Of equal bafflement is the guy on the right. I'm not sure if it was spotted at an Aryan Nations rally somewhere, but if "people" are no longer an appropriate target for general derision someone ought to give Spencer's Gifts a heads up before the protests hit. On the bright side, if this kind of hyper-sensitivity catches on, my "If Assholes Could Fly…" hat could one day be a collector's item.
