peace deal in colombia
“Down with the government of Ivan Duque!” chanted a group of retirees as they marched in a river of people that flowed all day through central Bogota. “Down! Down! Down!”
“There isn’t much coca left in this area, but if the state doesn’t do what it promised, this place will be full of coca again.”
The ceasefire commits the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, to completely demobilize within six months of the signing of one more accord — the final peace deal — that is expected very soon.
