New York officials have launched both a criminal case and a civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump’s businesses that could take them down.
New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a massive lawsuit accusing the ex-president of wildly manipulating the valuations of his assets. Her office also referred criminal charges to the feds.
The Trump Org’s long-serving CFO Allen Weisselberg pleaded guilty to financial crimes on Thursday, and agreed to testify against Trump’s company.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is investigating potential fraud in the Trump Organization, said “justice prevailed.”
Weisselberg pleaded not guilty.
The charges may be part of a long-term plan to get Allen Weisselberg to cooperate with investigators and testify against his boss.

Officials said Trump’s son, Eric Trump, has been refusing to testify under oath in the investigation.
