We Promise This Series of People Eating Fruit Is Better Than This Headline

These photographs capture the only way to eat fruit, alone and in public.

Fremantle-based photographer Matt Sav began his illustrious career shooting his friends. Those moments of life caught on film paved the way to becoming Tame Impala's touring photographer and shooting portraits for Rolling Stone.

Matt was inspired to create this series after he saw a kid at the cricket biting into a whole watermelon. Naturally, it features fruit being consumed but he's replaced the stadium stands with beautiful landscapes. It's a minimal, colour-popping collection shot on film that reads like a summer fruits version of Cluedo; Annabelle Moody with the apples at Bold Park Aquatic Centre; Felix Burrows and a dog named Ziva picking mulberries in Jules and Ben's backyard; Lata Periakarpan and some mangoes at Kalamunda Rocky Pool; and Jade Richards at Lake Monger with the watermelon.

The art direction is all Matt's own and that extra pair of hands belong to his video producer Rachael Karotkins, who also helped out with this project.
