Pokémon nostalgia has obviously been on everyone's minds lately with the (inescapably) enormous success of Pokémon GO, but what about all the other amazing games from that era, like fantasy-adventure game The Legend of Zelda? London producer and Bad Taste label co-founder Lean Low gives it the homage it deserves with his new tune "Zelda's Werkout," which THUMP is delighted to premiere today. Pairing delicate, antiquity-evoking harp sounds with unmistakably 21st century square waves and precisely swung club rhythms, the track is an exciting prequel to Abdullah Al-wali's forthcoming EP of the same name."When I was growing up I rinsed Zelda, first Link's Awakening on the Game Boy then The Ocarina Of Time on the N64," Al-wali told THUMP via email. "Something that always stuck with me was the soundtrack: the sweet medieval melodies, looping over and over 'til they stuck in my head. When I was making this track, the lead strings you hear throughout brought back nostalgic memories of those Zelda soundtracks, so it felt right to crown it after the game."The Zelda's Werkout EP will be out September 16 on Sheffield-based imprint Bad Taste, it is available for pre-order now.
