Dennis Rodman Is Down with Gang Green, Probably Because of Donald Trump

Rodman has endorsed Trump. You know who else likes Trump? Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets.

Dennis Rodman is a Jets fan. Period. End stop.

That doesn't sound so crazy, does it? Maybe because it was always meant to be. Also, because it's true. And it's ridiculous.

Rodman stopped by Jets training camp Wednesday and declared his love for the team. He wore green nail polish and did a video for the Jets' Instagram account. Let's just read what he said, via the God's work transcribing of Newsday.

"What am I doing here? I'm supporting your team. Guess what? I've got the green on, baby. The green nails. Supporting the Jets right now. Guess what? It's time for this team to do one thing, baby. It's time to take over New York. No more Giants. It's about the New York Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets."

Who knew he was provincially divisive? With any luck, Karl Malone is a Giants fan and that feud just won't die.

The better question is how he got to training camp. Sure, access is granted to celebrities, but Rodman is low on the list of people you'd want at your camp. And coach Todd Bowles is way more low key than Rex Ryan, his predecessor.

Here's a conspiracy theory: Maybe it's gotta do with Trump. Rodman is a higher-profile Donald Trump for president endorser (Rodman, Tila Tequila, and Stephen Baldwin could all be on the next Celebrity Big Brother or in the Trump cabinet, it could really go either way). You know who else likes Trump? Woody Johnson, the Jets owner.

Johnson was a Jeb Bush supporter, but when Jeb fell out of the race, well, it was time to get behind Trump and Woody is on board. He's reportedly holding one of those snooty rich-people fundraisers for Trump in the Hamptons and he doesn't even care that Trump bashed him when he was still #TeamJeb.

"It doesn't bother me," Johnson told the New York Times in May. "I've been in sports a long time. In sports, we're in the 'win' business and we want to entertain our fans."

And that's what Johnson has always been about almost 50 percent of the time: winning. Maybe that's why Rodman is allowed at practice. He has five rings, after all. Or maybe it's the bond they share over their indulgence in strong men. Rodman seems to be cool with Kim Jong-Un, the North Korean dictator. Johnson is on the Trump train.

And those guys are winners. They'll tell you.
