The New York Post is a right-wing, Rupert Murdoch-owned rag that closely resembles a written-out pro-Trump Fox News affiliate. It is not the type institution that would have an app that might send out push notifications to its app's subscribers quoting Nirvana lyrics and ranting about the biblical evils of Donald Trump. And yet, as Spin points out, that's exactly what happened yesterday, April 1.One missive in the thread from the apparent hack quoted Nirvana's "Come As You Are," reading, "Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours, but don't be late." It came amidst biblical allusions and messages that seemed to be directed to President Donald Trump. "I speak as an angel in the words of God," read one message; "Open your heart to those you do not understand and listen to all those you fear and look down upon," read another. One just read "Heil President Donald Trump!"
The New York Post apologized on Twitter, saying that the system had been "compromised." It makes sense. But deep down, we all hope that there's a now-fired intern with a righteous grin on their face, wearing a Nirvana T-shirt, their bible close at hand, trying to fuck with Post readers.Follow Noisey on Twitter.
