There are some songs you can only listen to sitting still (for me: "Cloudbusting" by Kate Bush – a song I can literally only listen to lying down flat on my back), whereas other songs force an action. Drake's "Nice For What", for example, literally invites you to snap selfies while you listen, and there's a whole catalogue of tracks like Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, and Migos' "Slide" that feel made for sitting in a park on a summer's day, pushing your fingers through the spiky grass.What I'm trying to say is that "Guatemala," the new one from Swae Lee, is one of those songs that absolutely, completely compels you to do something. Though it features Slim Jxmmi, the song will appear on Lee's solo album Swaecation as part of Rae Sremmurd's three-pronged SR3MM project, and it is the kind of track that surely reaches its optimum potential once it's being played, loud, from a car stereo in the sun with the windows down.Think about it: with its muted beat, sung vocals, and languid synths, the track is a mid-tempo affair that feels like it's pouring sunshine wherever it goes. It's the sort of song you hear from a car hurtling down your street on a Saturday morning and immediately have to listen to yourself.Living up to the Swaecation name, "Guatemala" is a bright nugget of holiday-tinged optimism, and will surely be a radio favourite.
