Taxidermy Hall’s Rob Dickens deserves the hype. With the premiere of his visual accompaniment to his latest release “Window Shop”, the Kiwi brings feels on feels. It’s like a sober drive home after dropping all your wasted friends off and wondering who you are and what the hell you’re doing with your life. It’s a High Fidelity-esque break up. It is unrequited love. Good luck getting out unscathed.Directed by Alisha Wetherill and set in New York, the New Zealand singer/songwriter’s video follows hazy party scenes and a blurry babe in a very cold Times Square. At times it looks all very 'fun times in Brooklyn' but the song and video are also shadowed with a loneliness and longing. It makes you wonder, “What if I was that freezing babe, waiting for my lover in the heart of a cultural metropolis?” Hats off.“Window Shop” will appear on a two-track EP to be released in the coming months.
