Oh Good, Another Two Smashing Pumpkins Albums

Don't get too excited.

Yesterday, Billy Corgan announced via this new, Geocities-circa-1999-looking website that the Smashing Pumpkins—or whatever teenagers he's hired to play Smashing Pumpkins songs—have begun recording not one, but two new albums, Monuments To An Elegy and Day For Night to be released in 2015. At this point, it really seems like Billy is trolling us all because those sound like something that came out of a Smashing Pumpkins album title generator. Maybe he will follow these two up with a 10-part concept album box set called Outside The Garden of Sorrow or 29 1-song EPs called An Evening Enchantment In The Twilight or something.

The announcement also mentioned that Billy will post daily on the website (which is called The Panopticon) and "items regarding each day’s recording will be shared that same evening, with song titles, lyrics, poetic impressions, pictures, sound clips, studio gear and the like offered for a circuitous, bird’s eye view of the process as it unfolds."

Can't wait.
