Buying flowers as a man is humiliating. Yes, it’s 2015 and gender norms are changing and all, but still, standing on the bus with a bouquet of roses is strangely emasculating. There’s no right way to hold them. You try to tuck them under your arm or cradle them like a delicate baby. Everyone who sees you holding a big ol’ bouquet knows you’re either trying to make up for some horrible fuck up you made in your relationship or it’s Mother’s Day. Seattle’s Success are not afraid to buy you flowers.

If Success had the money to buy you flowers every single day, they would. So goes the insanely catchy hook from the gruff punks on their new song, appropriately titled “Flowers.” They are taking back the concept of making flowers cool. Let the furious picking and fast-as-hell chordery wash away any insecurities you might’ve had about the fact that you’re standing in the rain, holding a bunch of daisies and tulips, like the sappy romantic you are.
