Tropical Disco And Hip-Hop Collide On Kamandi's Remix of Gold Field's "Hold Me"

The New Zealand wunderkind offers a dark and dreamy rework of the original summer jam

Gold Fields have our attention. The Ballarat natives are both careful producers and careful editors of their work. Since starting out in 2010 the friends and bandmates have waited for just the right sound and just the right mood before they release anything into the world. "Hold Me" was their most recent issue, an emotive single perfect for a contemplative headphone session or a tropical disco dancefloor. Any way you listen the song is a summer jam. "Hold Me" was recently handed over to a select crew of top remixers for an update, and New Zealand wunderkind Kamandi has offered a striking new take on the original. Kamandi sees there's trouble in paradise; the tempo has been slowed and the tension is heightened. Dub waves crash and heavy hip hop drops like so much summer rain on this tropical shore. Take shelter and enjoy the storm here:

The sun is always shining with Gold Fields, but they also love to dance in the rain. More information about the "Hold Me"  single and remixes here
