Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods are helping a young South Wales football team look sharper on the pitch this season by sponsoring their uniforms.

According to the Nottingham Post, the band agreed to be the official sponsors of The Seven Sisters AFC U9s after a team manager contacted them.

"We sponsored The Seven Sisters AFC U9's from South Wales. Thanks to Phyllisdoris1 for getting in touch," the band tweeted earlier this week. The tweet included two pictures of the young footballers in their new kits.

Frontman Jason Williamson told The Post that the manager explained to him that most teams were sponsored by fast food chains and open cast mines.

"He felt that was just too much as they had the monopoly on such areas and not in a good way."

No doubt the end of season trip is going to be the most colourful ever experienced by an Under 9 team.
