Ronaldo Demolishes Header for Opening Goal in Semifinal Match Against Wales

Ronaldo has factored into both goals for Portugal as they lead Wales 2-0 in the second half of their semifinal match.

Wales and Portugal played a scoreless first half in their Euro 2016 semifinal match, but five minutes into the second half, Ronaldo smoked a header past the Welsh keeper, Wayne Hennessey, for a 1-0 Portugal lead. It came off a short corner kick and Rapheal sent in a high delivery that Ronaldo soared and seemingly hung in the air for before powering it into the back of the net. Ronaldo is now tied with Michel Platini with nine goals in European Championship play, most of all time.

Three minutes later, Portugal were pressing again and Ronaldo factored into another goal. He snared a clearing attempt with his right foot, then hit a worm burner right to the front of the box that was redirected in by Nani, crossing up Hennessey and giving Portugal a 2-0 lead over the upstart Wales squad. If the score holds, Portugal will play the winner of Germany and host France in the Final.
