This High School Buzzer-Beater Bounced So Damn High, But Finally Went In

You've never seen a buzzer beater quite like this.

All buzzer beaters are great, but every now and again, a new one is bestowed upon us unworthy mortals by the basketball gods. It's rare to witness a game-winning ball drop through a net in ways unseen before; we're not complaining, any such occurrence is to be treasured. So let's go to central Iowa, for a high school boys' basketball game on the outskirts of Des Moines.

Last night, the ADM (short for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn community school district) Tigers took on the Winterset Huskies in a Raccoon River Conference siloburner. Going into the 4th quarter, the Huskies were up nine, but the Tigers would go 8-for-13 in the frame and find themselves down only a bucket, at home, with 3.3 seconds left following two free throws by Winterset's Justin Henry.

Pick it up on the baseline as ADM senior Sam McCartney uncorks a full-court pass that veers off toward the right side of the court. Huskie junior Harrison Brockway nearly picks it out the air, but loses control of the rock as he falls out of bounds. Tiger Jared Sapp snags the ball, chucks it from the corner, and watches it bounce straight up to the heavens off the rim and finally back to Earth and through the net….BALL GAME!

ADM 63, Winterset 62.

Following the fantastic ending, the small town student contingent goes "Marquette over Villanova" bananas. The good-time mayhem was captured and shared for buzzer-beater lovers everywhere by ADM senior Lindsey Lange, hashtag #FamilyWin.

If there's one thing that can save us, it's basketball.
