Listen To Henrik Schwarz Fairy-Dust The Shit Out Of Bastille's "Oblivion"

Pure remix magic with the house king of Germany.

Ideally the job of the remix is to improve on the original track, as opposed to merely offering a different take. And that's exactly what house great Henrick Schwarz has done with his remix of Bastille's "Oblivion", furnishing the meloncholy cello ballad with a pitch perfect and elegant upgrade for dancing. At his peak, the German producer was churning out stellar remixes at a remarkable pace (his refit of Omar's "Feeling You" is his crowning glory) and he's so renowned it's a massive coup for the Brit rock band to have the DJ lovingly customise their new single.

Schwarz laces the original with exactly the right measure of augmentation and no more to make it shine. "Oblivion"s sadness is carried over in the remix, but when couched in house music's sense of theatre it becomes more like a sweet hurt.
