Prepare Yourself for the Motherlode—Four Discs of New Brian Eno

Bonus: 16 pages of photos, images and writings by Eno about each release. (#veryrare)

The best kinds of presents are the ones that get dropped in your lap for little apparent reason, just like, Surprise bitches!!! Here's something to brighten up your day. That's exactly what you've got here, thanks to the annoucement today that Brian Eno will drop four discs worth of rare and unreleased music this December.

The releases are actually reissues of four solo Eno records made from 1992 to 1997: Nerve Net, Eno's rock-oriented album that pulls from the long-lost album My Squelchy LifeThe Shutov Assembly, his ode to Russian artist and friend Sergei Shutov; Neroli, an opus of mood music inspired by Seville orange fragrance oil; and The Drop, which has been called "jazz from a vague, alien perspective."

Each title will come as a two-disc CD, with the second disc containing new material that is "made in the spirit of the original release, adding a new line of insight and communication to these records," says the accompanying press release. Also included: a 16-page booklet with photos, images, and writings by Eno about each release.

All four discs are available for pre-order here and will be out December 2 on All Saints Records—the London-based ambient label that serves as an extension of Eno's Opal Records.
