NFL free agent Johnny Manziel reached an agreement with the Dallas County DA office that would dismiss recent domestic violence charges against him on the condition that he seeks treatment and avoids trouble for a year, according to CBS DFW.

The case, which involves allegations that Manziel hit and threatened his then-girlfriend Colleen Crowley, has not been officially dismissed and Manziel has not been placed under formal probation. However, the "conditional dismissal agreement" seems to be giving Manziel an easy out, despite his repeated failures to rehabilitate himself.

According to a statement obtained by CBS DFW from the Dallas County DA office these types of agreements "monitor the progress of a defendant for the time it takes to complete the requirements of the Agreement, up to one year's time, and should an individual fail to live up to these requirements, they will be prosecuted for the offense charged. It is the defendant's responsibility to make arrangements with providers of treatment and/or counseling that meet the Court's approval."

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Manziel must do the following:

1) Complete anger management course approved by the court

2) Attend domestic violence victim impact panel

3) Participate fully in the NFL's Policy and Program for Substance of Abuse, or if program is unavailable, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation at court approved location

4) No contact with Colleen Crowley

The former Browns quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner initially faced a misdemeanor assault charge for the domestic violence charges that carried a penalty of up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
