There is no ending the inspirational chaos that Boston band Pile hath wrought on young bands. They've brought back a certain hardness and aggro-Americana that indie rock hasn't seen since it was called "college rock." Pile's dark, grunge hymns have inspired a wide range of younger groups—one of the best being fellow Bostononians Lady Bones.Lady Bones started making music in 2011 when all the members were still in high school. They've taken cues from their hometown heroes and kept a similar grunge spirit alive with dark vocals, semi-ironic balls-out solos and polyrhythms, and lyrical introspection that avoids becoming too self-serious.
