Paul Pierce Patrolled the Clippers Bench Dressed as Rick James

Pierce is out with a gimpy ankle, but that did not stop his costume game from shining on the bench.

While his teammates on the L.A. Clippers prepared to grind their feet all over the winless Phoenix Suns like they were Eddie and Charlie Murphy's suede couch, veteran forward Paul Pierce had other plans. The future Hall of Famer, who is out with an ankle injury and has already announced his retirement at the end of 2016-17, currently gives zero fucks. And who better to emulate on Halloween than the man who wrote the book on not giving a fuck, Rick James?

Asked how the costume came about, Pierce replied, "Well, I started with the wig at a party and the costume just kind of evolved from there."

Amazingly, Pierce didn't even need to leave the house to assemble such a masterpiece; the fur belongs to his wife, and everything else was already in his closet. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers gave him permission to wear the costume on the bench, and the rest is history.

The old man seemingly had a blast posing with fans, including this one dude who may or may not have dressed up as Captain Kirk:

The Clips dropped Phoenix by 18 points in a 116-98 beating that was—dare I say—collllllllllllllld-blooddddddddddddddded.
