American experimental filmmaker David Lynch's bizarre, addictive TV show "Twin Peaks," which aired from 1990 to 1991, is beloved for a lot of things, but its music is arguably one of the most distinctive parts of its legacy. The dreamy, heartbreakingly beautiful theme by Angelo Badalamenti is iconic, and the whole soundtrack is extremely popular on YouTube, racking up several million plays on various uploads across the site.

In gearing up for the 2017 return of the show, a host of popular musicians have been brought into the fold, including a number of artist working in electronic music spheres. According to a new announcement made to the show's official Facebook page, "The cameras have stopped rolling," and among the new names announced to be taking part in the show are Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor; fellow How to Destroy Angels bandmate Mariqueen Maandig Reznor, who is also Reznor's wife; NYC singer and songwriter Sky Ferreira; Chromatics' Ruth Radelet; and more.

The show did not disclose what role the artists will play, whether it's in contributing to the soundtrack or actually making an appearance on-screen. To see the full list of names, see the original post.

Last year, Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart opened up to us about why he loved the soundtrack enough to go on tour performing covers of it.
