Harry Styles Releases Debut Single "Sign of the Times"

Is he the hottest man on Earth? Probably. Is this the hottest single on Earth? It's alright.

About two years ago, Zayn Malik parted ways with the world's biggest boy band. Four months later, the band announced an upcoming hiatus. Since mid-last year, the remaining for One Direction members have been out in the world on their own: Zayn released his first solo album Mind of Mine; Niall Horan launched his own with "This Town;" Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne became dads; and Harry Styles was typically Harry Styles—posting irregularly on social media and keeping characteristically quiet about his projects, one of which was a film with Christopher Nolan.

Now, after much deliberation and anticipation, his first foray into the world of lone pop stardom is upon us. "Sign of the Times," the first single from the British singer, is live, people. And it's a goddamn soft rock ballad. Which is a nice change. The track is a whopping five minutes long, and sounds like Styles has been listening to a lot of Bowie, Queen, and Elton John.

What will the record sound like? No one knows. The real question is: Will he ever reply to my tweets?

Listen to the track below, and watch for the singer debuting the single live on SNL, April 14.
