Woman Wanted in 'Brutal' Calgary Quadruple Murder Case

Three people were found in a burned-out car, while another was found in a ditch.

Police are looking for a woman who is a person of interest in a quadruple homicide that occurred over the week of July 10 in Calgary, Alberta. Yu Chieh Liao (aka Diana Liao), 24, is believed to have had "a significant role" in the murders.

The murders being investigated have been described as "brutal" by police. They say some victims were in "the wrong place at the wrong time." A man and two women were found dead in a burned-out car in the northwest Calgary neighbourhood of Sage Hill on July 10; the owner of the car was found on the outskirts of the city in a ditch two days later, CBC News reports.

Liao is five feet five tall and weighs 160 pounds, according to police. She has dark hair and eyes. Reportedly she was last seen in the Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan area on July 12—over six hours away from Calgary. She may be travelling with an unknown man, pictured above, and police said she uses rental cars and stays in hotels. Liao reportedly has ties to multiple cities in Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver, and Regina.

The victims found in the burned-out car were Cody Pfeiffer, 25 and Glynnis Fox, 36, and Tiffany Ear, 39. Fox and Ear were sisters. The body of Hanock Afowerk, 26, was found in a ditch near highways outside Calgary. Police say all of these deaths were connected and that more than one person could have been involved.
