Australia's Getting Its First Modern Record Pressing Plant in 30 Years

Featuring high-tech presses from Canada, Program Records will open in Melbourne in early 2018.

A new pressing plant, said to be Australia's first new modern facility for pressing vinyl records in over 30 years, is opening in Melbourne early next year.

Equipped with state of the art WarmTone presses, Program Records will open for business in early 2018 and comes with a new plating and stamper making system as well as experienced mastering and lacquer cutting.

In a press release Program Records' Steve Lynch says,"Program Records will focus on supporting the local music scene backed by a data driven and highly efficient production facility. Australia has a great music scene that deserves to have affordable, good quality vinyl made here on time," says founder Steve Lynch..

According to the Program Records website, the plant will be located in Melbourne's northern suburbs and will host events and launches.
