LCD Soundsystem Will Rise Again This Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday is the Christian celebration of the rising of Jesus from the dead, and now in 2016, seven more people are coming together to bring another entity back to life: LCD Soundsystem.

This Sunday and Monday at New York City's Webster Hall, the legendary dance band will reunite for the first time since its epic four-show Madison Square Garden farewell performances in 2010. For these two performances, promoter Panorama has issued a lottery: winners will get a chance to purchase two tickets, though as they point out on the lottery page: "Winning the lottery does not guarantee ticket availability." In other words, you better double-cross your fingers.

These two shows kickoff the promised reunion shows that frontman James Murphy announced on the band's website back in January. Murphy also announced that the band were working on a new album: "we're releasing a record (sometime this year—still working on it, actually), so this isn't a victory lap or anything."

If you're hankering for some new LCD tunes, however, the band reemerged with a new Xmas-themed track back in December that's still good and Easter appropriate.
