A guy from Powell, Ohio, became so enthralled with a pair of cute wittle cougars at his local zoo last week that he hopped over a protective barrier and spent a few minutes tickling the carnivorous beasts through a wire fencing. The man, Joshua Newell, filmed the whole thing and posted the video on YouTube, because that's what you do when you trespass in a zoo and play with dangerous animals.

"Come here, kitty, kitty, kitty," he calls in the video. "That's a good kitty."

Following the YouTube video's release, the Ohio zoo put out a statement claiming that Joshua Newell was being charged with trespassing. President and CEO of the Columbus Zoo, Tom Stalf, called the video "alarming," because "animal welfare and safety are two of [the zoo's] top priorities."

But Newell isn't phased. "It was very spontaneous. I jumped the barrier and showed them some love," the 35-year-old said in a recent ABC News report.

"Why would I be afraid?" Newell told ABC. "They wanted me to pet them."

Sound as that logic may be, the Columbus Zoo's animal guide says that the mountain lions live on a steady diet of ground-up meat and bones, which is coincidently what Newell's weak human body is made of. He is scheduled to appear in court this coming Wednesday.
